What’s In Store: Party Planning

The Official Breezy Boards Launch Party… get ready to celebrate!

With artwork and production finalized, the main focus is to continue to make progress towards the Breezy Boards Launch Party! The venue has been established along with a lengthy list of things to tackle in order to make the event epic. In addition to launching the Adjective Dragon board collection and the Breezy Boards merchandise and apparel, that requires a few key components: a solid team of people to help organize and run the event, killer bands, food vendors and drink specials, and customers to be the very first Breezy Board owners.

The Adjective Dragon Collection

Curating an art contest to feature local artists’ artwork in the debut collection of Breezy Boards was one of the most exciting aspects of developing my business so far. Generating excitement, inspiration and a bond with people over my dream business is exactly why I wanted to share my passion of longboarding with all of you. In the pursuit of an all-out, community-driven celebration, I plan to acknowledge and thank each of the artists who contributed to the success of this collection at the Official Breezy Boards Launch Party! To honor their artwork and showcase the medium that their artwork will be featured on, the entire Adjective Dragon collection will be on display at the event!

The Adjective Dragon collection is comprised of only 100 boards, 20 of each winning dragon artwork. The boards will be available to preorder March 1 at 5:13 p.m. on www.ridebreezyboards.com/adjectivedragon.

Preorder Announcement

Placing a preorder reserves your limited edition board, will be numbered and signed by the artist, and will be available to pick up from the Launch Party!

The Party

All of this talk about a Launch Party, but what should you expect at the official celebration for the launch of Breezy Boards?

Well, to be frank, a super fun night at World of Beer in downtown St. Petersburg featuring awesome food, amazing bands, locally brewed beer and raffle prizes. Not to mention the debut of the Adjective Dragon Breezy Boards collection along with the first line of Breezy Boards merchandise and apparel!

The Bands

A party thrives or dives depending on its musical soundtrack and the Launch Party was in need of a killer lineup of music to create a fun and energetic atmosphere. I also strived to book musicians who were stoked to be a part of the Breezy Boards celebration.

The final lineup of musicians for the Launch Party is

  • Ella Jet,
  • My Evergreen,
  • Catchfools, and
  • Sketchie!

The bands will be announced on the Breezy Boards Facebook page and the Launch Party event page through World of Beer’s Facebook, along with band bios and links to their music.

The Food

You’re bound to get hungry while you’re busy hanging out, checking out the Breezy Boards products, drinking local beer, socializing and listening to live music. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! I’m a server and a food lover, so I would never let you go hungry! One more reason to stay and party with us all night long is that there will be some amazing food options available throughout the duration of the event.

The ultimate party food, and I’m sure you will agree with me, is pizza! What’s even better than pizza? Italian-style pizza baked in a wood fire oven out of a fire engine! Engine 53 Pizza will be making pizza on site at the event out of one of their three fire engine food trucks. Gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available so everyone can get in on the pizza action.

To embrace the spirit of a Friday the 13th party Breezy Boards approached Devout & Devour, a “dark and metal-themed pop up restaurant” to cater the event. Their unique style and insane amount of creativity that they put into their food made them the perfect fit for the Breezy Boards Launch Party! They almost seemed as excited to be a part of it as I was to have them on board! We will be working together to create a food menu themed to Breezy Boards, the Adjective Dragon collection and the featured beers and cocktails for the event. This menu will also feature gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The Drinks

World of Beer as agreed to partner with local breweries and feature only Tampa Bay and Sarasota county breweries on draft. There’s even talk of bringing in Bacardi Dragonberry to make up a specially-themed Adjective Dragon cocktail or two!

The Raffle

Throughout the event there will be an ongoing raffle where you can enter for the change to win one of three prize baskets, filled with locally-sourced goodies donated by local businesses and artisans. The prize baskets are themed “Shop, Drink and Play Local” and will be compiled and assembled by me and the Breezy Boards Street Team.

The Team

Organizing and running the Launch Party would be next to impossible without the help of an amazing team of people who are dedicated to the success of the event. I have been so lucky to have a group of people who believe in my vision and business venture to support and donate their time and energy towards launching Breezy Boards. These wonderful people are a part of the Breezy Boards Street Team, who are working with me to tackle the extensive party-planning to do list for the Launch Party.

As the event draws closer, I have reached out to the Street Team members to begin to plan, organize and execute the tasks that need to happen in order to make this event successful. Some members of the Team have naturally fallen into Task Leader positions because of their interests, professional skills and commitment to the Breezy Boards vision. This is a core group of people who are working with me on specific focuses to help accomplish the various tasks that need to get done. Some Task Leaders will partner with Street Team members to complete their tasks efficiently.
The current lineup of Task Leaders is:
✓ Casey Nelson – Director of Photography
✓ Dylan Carney – Band Coordinator and Graphics
✓ Jade Blackmer – Event Planning and Organizer
✓ Jamie Doerschuck – Marketing and Sales Rep
✓ Kayla O’Brien – Merchandise Rep
✓ Krystal Blais – Social Media Curator
✓ Lexy Bellis – Raffle Coordinator
✓ Mark Van Sluytman – Adjective Dragon Collection Coordinator

The Street Team Task Leaders and Team Members will be at the Launch Party helping to male sure that the event runs smoothly and celebrating everyone’s hard work. Keep your eye out for people in gray t-shirts with “Breezy Boards Street Team” in yellow on the back!

A special thanks goes out to Darren Simons, who worked with me to create the Breezy Boards logo, Dylan Carney, who has graciously helped create graphics and assumed the role of coordinating the music lineup for the event, and Casey Nelson and Laia Gore, who have taken some amazing photos in preparation for the launch of Breezy Boards!

Everyone here with Breezy Boards is excited for the success of the Launch Party and are hoping that you are eagerly awaiting the chance to celebrate with us! Be sure to follow Breezy Boards on Facebook and check out the Launch Party event page for the latest updates and announcements.
